After successful beginnings in Sydney and Central Coast New South Wales having served over 1,400 families since 2017, Salvos Funerals is extending its care into Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

Given the exceptional circumstances of 2020 and the impact on society due to COVID-19, the Salvos Funerals expansion into Melbourne will be offering direct cremation services only in the beginning, with a view to provide additional services by autumn 2021.

Senior Funeral Planner and Funeral Sector Advisor, Marc Allison, who will be overseeing the initial expansion into Melbourne, says he is looking forward to bringing the service to his home town.

“In the early days, when helping to start Salvos Funerals, I reflected on how many families there are who are not cared for as well as they could and should be,” says Marc. “It makes their burden of grief unnecessarily harder. I am grateful to be able to provide a service that puts people first and to now extend that care into Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula."
