Salvos Funerals provides direct cremation service in Melbourne

Having served over 1400 families since 2017 outside of Victoria, with Salvos Funerals you and your loved one will be treated with compassion and care as you navigate this emotional time.

Marc Allison, whose family has 160 years’ experience in the sector in Victoria, is leading our care of families who contact us in the beginning.

Initially providing a direct cremation offering, services will expand to include personalised funerals from March 15 2021.

Why direct cremation?

Many people are now opting for a direct cremation, which is a cremation with no service and without anyone in attendance. It is a simple and affordable option that allows the flexibility to hold a memorial service at a later date and at a location of your choosing without involving the funeral director.

How it works

Arrange details

We will make arrangements with you over the phone and by email

Transportation and cremation

Your loved one will be carefully transported, via a mortuary, to the crematorium where the cremation is carried out

Receive ashes

The ashes of your loved one can either be collected from the crematorium or returned to you in an urn of your choice

Hold a service or memorial

Hold a memorial service if you wish

Honour your loved one

You may choose to have the ashes interred in a crematorium or cemetery or memorial garden in a church. Alternatively, you may wish to scatter the ashes at an appropriate time and place.
